Over the last couple of days, I’ve been in a black and white mode. I went through the photos I took in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National a couple years ago and edited a few that I found more interesting as black and white than color. The same thing this morning except that I was only looking for one image that became Danube Crossing. The photograph is feast of leading lines. While looking at those raw files, I found 3 more, Bridge Over Danube, Bridge Light Vienna, and Swedish Black in Vienna. Don’t ask me which bridges, I’ve no idea. And I should mention that the duck I think is a Swedish Black, but I could be wrong. If it is a Swedish Black, which is a domestic breed, then it is most likely is a domestic escapee.
COVID was still very much a thing when we went to Vienna. When we left, Vienna was open. It didn’t stay that way. The city shut down the second day after we arrived. Since the main purpose of the trip was for Misha to see his sisters, it wasn’t a great concern. It did mean that we would not see many of the attractions.
We did a lot of walking that trip. Well, that is pretty normal for any trip with Misha and his sisters. They’re fine walking everywhere. No worries about getting steps in with that crew.
We had set off from the hotel with a specific park in mind by the Danube River. The park didn’t trigger any photographic urges. It was an overcast day, and being November, it was a bit chilly. There wasn’t much that day I was finding particularly interesting. I remember shooting the bridge because I thought the mist might prove interesting. I also remember taking a few photos of the bridge we had crossed on while we were walking back over the Danube. And then I forgot about them for a couple of years.
